Finally, we decided to organize the first ever Whisky Show in Budapest, Hungary. I attended several Whisky Lives, Shows, Festivals in my carreer, but none of it took place in Hungary. The closest one is Whisky Messe in Vienna, takes place every second year. From this year, we will be in a shift with them. Regarding the Whisky Show 2010 Budapest, we were able to convince each of the local subsidiaries or official distributor of the multinational whisky companies (Diageo, Pernod Ricard, William Grant & Sons, Edrington, Brown-Forman and Jim Beam Brands), as well as some of the Scotch Single Malt whisky distilleries (Benromach, Bruichladdich, Benriach, Glenfarclas and Isle of Arran), together with two Indy Bottlers (Wilson & Morgan and Gordon & MacPhail) to “buy in”. We sold over 60 tickets so far, although we didn’t start our advertising campaign yet, but we are, of course, on ‘facebook’ and ‘twitter’.
