I wonder, if someone like Steve Jobs took over any of the whisky distilleries, what hype he would generate around every new release and how he would dramatize the official introduction of every new bottling. On one hand, it might be beneficial for the industry in terms of publicity, awareness, hip & style. On the other hand, it might alienate many whisky-lovers, whisky-freaks and fans.

Fortunately, there is no intention from Apple to invest in distillation, so far. Otherwise, we would need to be prepared for touch-screen labels, iTunes-stored tasting notes, special iDevices for opening the bottles, zero-compatibility and zero-option to share our whisky with windows-user friends, and above all the iPhone effect.
But if someone is really nuts about the “i” things, then download iWhiskey from the iPhone App Store. 600 reviews of the world’s whisk(e)ys. No matter, whether you are a whisk(e)y connoisseur or want to learn more about whisk(e)y, you will know which whisk(e)ys you’ll want try and which ones to buy. Check out the iWhiskey Application demo on YouTube!
Anyway, it would be great to know what is (or was) the favourite whisky or whiskey of Mr. Jobs. Any guess?
